Diesel is not that cheap - in the UK the fuel is so much more expensive, they are dirty and generally a bit dog-aired. But otherwise in the future they may be good. Although Hydrogen is the real way forward.

Ya Diesel engines fit daily driving better. The low end power is good for stop and go traffic and it provides good passing power on the high way. Also you can blast out of corners on a road course :p

It's diesel alright. The turbos absorb so much energy from the exhaust that there's not much noise left.
