KODIAK AND NIKKI, A WOLF DOG AND AN AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD PLAYING

My dogs Kodiak and Nikki playing in the back yard. Kodiak is a wolf and Alaskan Malamute mix and Nikki is an Australian Shepherd.

These are my babies, so I think that are BEAUTIFUL!! Nikki is extremely hyper and even though most people would be afraid of the wolf, you need to be afraid of the little one!! lol

Beautiful dogs. But I must say that your "Australian Shepherd" is not an Aussie unless he/she was mixed with a Border Collie. Aussies do not have tails by birth and yours has a tail! Its a Border Collie : ) I have two at the moment and have had them most all of my life.

Give both of those beautiful critters a good scratch behind the ears for me will ya?

Hello there ProphecyChannel! Well, my dogs papers say she is an Australian Shepherd. I purchased her in a local pet store where they take puppies in from home breeders, not just kennels. These home breeders did not cut off their tails.

She looks a lot like a Border Collie, I know. I had a beautiful picture of an Australian Shepherd that was a magazine cover of an Aussie magazine on my computer, but my pc crashed and I don't have it any more. The dog on that cover was herding a bull and looked just like my Nikki except for longer hair.

@ProphecyChannel Most aussies do have tails by birth, just some of them don't. In the usa they dock their tails at a very early age (it's the standard), but in the rest of the countries tail-docking is forbidden.

@ProphecyChannel You're right, I think someone ripped him off. That really does look like a border collie, I never seen an Aussie with a tail, and with a black and white coat.

Australian Shepherds are born with tails and they are usually docked. I've had them with and without.

Not all aussies get thier tails docked at birth so they still have long tails i have an aussie and he was born with a docked tail but his brother and sisters werent
