to me the sound of the loon is the most beautiful in the world. I grew up in northern canada and I have such great memories being out on the lake and listening to the sounds of them :)

The territorial call reminds me of what turkeys sound like. And, I've always wondered, why do people use the term "Your acting like such a loon!" if you are acting in a silly manner??? Why a Loon?
