Oritse Williams from JLS - Being a young carer

Oritsé Williams from the band JLS (runners up in last year's X Factor) answers questions from young carers for people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Oritsé's mother has MS, and he was a young carer himself. Growing up, he helped look after his mother, as well as his younger brothers and sister.

wow, I look up to this guy....but can someone tell me what multiple sclerosis  is?

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the result of damage to myelin - a protective sheath surrounding nerve fibres of the central nervous system.

When myelin is damaged, this interferes with messages between the brain and other parts of the body leading to a range of symptoms such as:

- Difficulties with balance and dizziness;

- Fatigue;

- Visual problems;

- Cognitive problems;

- Stiffness or spasms in muscles

- Emotional and mood changes

- Bladder and bowel problems

what an amazing person. Oritse if you read this i want you to know that I look up to you so much. It sounds stupid but you are so selfless and kind its really quite astonishing. You are now achieving your dream and it warms my heart to see that you and the boys are so happy and always smiling!
