Guillermo GOMEZ - "Plegaria"

Guillermo Gomez, born in Malaga in 1880, moved to Mexico to introduce the "Tarrega-technique". This small piece "Plegaria" (= plea, prayer) for me has a indeed a certain Tarrega-feel (Adelita) about it. The playing is still far from perfect, some rough edges, unclear harmonics. I decided to leave it like this and hope you enjoy it anyway.

Good rendition, Jasper! I would not touch the tempo, I think if sholud be enough to slow it down very slightly, as a little diminuendo, in the parts you want to remark with special feeling, but you have the piece perfectly profiled with that tempo. Good job!

Very good effort. This is the very first classical song I learned on guitar and I love to hear others playing it. It's such a beautiful, soothing piece. The sound quality is amazing by the way, what's that mic you're using?

Yo tenia entendido que guillermo gomez vino a mexico durante el exilio español. hace muchos años habia una farmacia pequeña por las calles de jesus carranza (por tepito) ahi una de sus hijas vendía trancripciones de las obras del maestro ¿alguien sabe si aun existe esa farmacia y si se pueden conseguir obras del maestro ahí? los métodos del maestro los he visto todavía a la venta en los repertorios de música de la ciudad de méxico ahi vienen algunas piecesitas como esta plegaria
