50 Sri Lankan schoolgirls were killed by SLAF fire in August 2006. The story got some BBC press and nothing in the USA. I wrote this quick song because I was just hit by the death of those little kids (and how ignored they were by mainstream America!).
50 Girls you'll never see 50 Girls on the BBC Mean nothing to you Mean nothing to me 50 Girls across the sea
50 Girls on their way out A war they know so little about A fight that rings inside their ears Membranes gone, so many tears
50 Girls who you don't know 50 Girls you'll never know They go to school-away okay Not to return home that day 50 Girls 50 Girls
50 Girls SLAFfed around 50 girls down on the ground So loud the air let it come down As long as it's not in my home town 50 Girls so sad to say
