Wonderful song written by Sandy Denny. Judy Collins also does a great version which is Featured in the Academy award winning film 'The Subject was Roses', staring Patricia Neal. Love this song.

Sandy Denny was a brilliant songwriter.

Yes, "The Dancer Upstairs" brought me here.
However, I was introduced to Nina's songs in the fall of 1968.
Who knows where the time goes ?

@archersag09: Yes! A great movie and fantastic acting by Javier Bardem!!! And a very clever use of this track in the movie. John Malkovich knew what he was doing. a very smart movie, and of course, a beautiful song and touching prelude by Nina Simone.

Thumbs Up if the movie " The Dancer Upstairs " brought you here.

I like Nina Simone but this is not a patch on the Sandy Denny version with her own 12-string accompaniment. Simone's accompanist is not doing a very good job.
Has anyone seen the movie "The Dancer Upstairs"? This plays over the last few scenes. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Nina Simone is the best singer/lyricist an I adored her personality. I am sorry I never saw er in concert or talk to her.
