@AmericannPie08 The economy was horrible during Reagan and Bush I 's terms! Where have you gotten your imagined info? The only optimism was the rad-right idiots who were either benefiting from the insider-economy, or dumb enough to believe the Reagan-head on the TV. Get out of the faggoty "I'm a conservative" cult. Read a book or maybe 2, learn how to look-up facts & statistics. Charts help if you're not good with math.

Reagan was good at cutesy speeches. The facts he will be remembered for are deregulating Wall St which has led to repeated financial collapses, funding both sides of the 8-year Iran-Iraq War which built and entrenched Saddam Hussein's regime, a drug-funded covert war in C. America, his corrupt New-Federalism agenda developed by ALEC and The imMoral Majority lunatics, and creating the Taliban. Oh, and don't forget Jelly Belly...that's important.

@MadBadVoodo Actually It went something like this: Mommy and Daddy why did we elect a peanut farmer who almost gave the communist the world. Then Mommy and Daddy How could a serial adultress, who one of the only few lawyer convicted of perjury become president, whose Vice President is an attempted rapist. Finally, How in the world could a person become president that can't prove he a US citizen, that sold cocaine and gave guns to drug cartel to the border to the south of us.

Life was so much better during President Reagan's term. We had optimism and economic growth - today we find it hard to understand that things could get worse...So owlandtree, the child today would most likely will say, "mommy, I'm hungry". In addition, a child today has stopped asking where his/her father is - or even who he is.
