Dementieva was better, but she lost because her shots were not so powerful so Serena could play in defensive easier.

FYI im sure they test for steriods, If as you imply Serena has no nuance, finesse, deftness and tatics, and she won, I venture to say either it's not about those things, or it was and she changed the game. It looks like a lot of nuance finesse deft players are left behind along with their fans, turning into bitter racist haters.

Gosh it sounds strange to say someone is the defending Australian, American and Wimbledon champion and that's not enough to make them the official #1! No wonder the WTA is a joke nowadays!!

Dementieva played the best she could, but Serena's serve and determination pulled her through when her playing was subpar...which is the true markings of a champion! I love Serena and this was an amazing match. Dementieva has won my respect for sure!
