This was a group project for my Ilokano 201 (Spring 2004) class at University of Hawaii at Manoa. This is THE first edited video I ever made with Windows Movie Maker...and hopefully you'll be able to cook this very GOOD Filipino Delicacy - PINAKBET!
People stop being stupid, can't you READ what this was about? These are University of Hawaii students practicing what they learned in their Ilocano 201 LANGUAGE class, not COOKING class!! It's about ambitious young people who study at probably the only U.S. university that offers Ilocano as a language. It tells me they appreciate their culture, especially in Hawaii where Filipino youth grow up being ashamed of their race. If you didn't figure this out, you need to go back to school, learn how t
Joel750, didn't you read that it was for his ILOCANO class in Hawai'i! What's wrong with you Tagalog boy? And for the record, you're not Filipino if you if you're NOT ILOCANO in Hawai'i! Ilocano is used by everyone one that lives in Hawai'i; it is engrained in the Hawaiian culture. Okay, so enough with the hate, you're welcome to pinakbet anytime my fellow Pilipino. Stop all the segregation already...we all FILIPINO, Manong Tagalog! So, Mangantayo!!
Por Dyos Por Santo!...tagalugin nyo naman!!! You know, not all of us speak ilocano...but MOST of us pinoys speak tagalog. Bakit ang dilim ng camera nyo!? If you ilocanos would cook for a YouTube Video next time...we don't really need the "i have to be cute".On eperson is enough..Haaayyyy Nakohhh!!!!
It's fantastic to see you perpetuating the Ilocano language through a food show!
Most Pinoys on the mainland US are Tagalog-speakers who trace their ancestry to the Manila area. Nothing wrong with that--Pinoy tayo, right?--but it often means that those of us with origins in Ilocos Norte, Mindanao, or elsewhere (my Filipino relatives are from Siquijor Island in the Visayas) are not represented.
...learn how to spell, and get a high school diploma. And maybe you'll be smart enough to attend the UH...
