Thanks for another great video!! I cannot WAIT to buy and try one of these!
-
Why dont you just use a mandolin to slice your daikon? That spinning gadget doesnt look effective at all
-
wow! I got so lucky! just a few hours after watching this, I found one of those pickle presses at goodwill for $2.99! SCORE!
-
Have you ever had your radishes go to seed without producing the radish root? Do you know why that would happen?
-
Hi John,
will that press work for making sauerkraut? looks like it would, but I usually make sauerkraut in glass....
-
Thanks John!
I love nuka pickles too! It's been years since I've made them!

My radishes sorta kinda exploded inside out like popcorn while in the ground. Apparently they were a bit too excited. :)

Thank you for this idea. I have a lot of radishes from a friends garden and I wasn't sure what to do with them.

I've just started making sour krout (second batch fermenting on day 2 now), love it!
This was probably answered in a past episode, but what do you do to maintain soil fertility? You grow so much and I can't see you having a yard full of compost bins and a fleet of worm bins (although I would approve if you did :D).

I do compost on-site.. I constantly add new compost on a regular basis.. Just picked up a load today.. (I dont create as much compost as I use - I buy it locally. I add rock dust and certain other soil nutrients. All my raised beds are like huge worm-bins. They are TEAMING with red wiggler worms... Another project is getting my worm bin going again..

Thanks from Japan. I haven't yet mastered the art of making good pickled vegies like you do. Right now I'm fermenting cucumbers in a mixture of rice hull and salt.
