The slimmed down version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmGfpq...
5 seconds achieved for the first time on the original Perfect Dark for Nintendo 64.
I was pretty shocked when I saw the elevator show up after that one pause at the end. The thing is that I've never before been able to strafe straight into the elevator like that on a fast fall. I'd always get stuck on an invisible wall, to get trough that I needed to reduce the speed slightly and then speed up again. That's what the pause was supposed to do (to reduce speed) I used to go with 2-3 pauses before being able to get trough to the lift by walking straight forward or a sidestep.
That one pause might have actually gotten me into the lift though, those walls around the elevator are tricky. It's like you need to stop strafing after you get stuck, just let go and you get in.
This took quite along time (around 50h) which may seem wierd after seeing how simple it looks. I had a 0:05.96 decimal before that rounded up to 6 but I think I took 10 more hours before I nailed this one, a .90 decimal this was.
Control style: 1.4 - I normally play with 1.2 but it was slightly easier to do the quick double duck in the air with 1.4 since you press Z down instead of R down.
6 seconds on this level was first achieved by Chris "ExpertGamer" Rayola in June 2001.
Felt pretty nuts finally achieving this time, 50h is so long to play such a short level, this was pretty much the last time I spend so much time on anything this short. Really what's annoying is that I don't get much flow at all, it's just repeat same thing for 2-6 seconds, so because of that this is just a once in a lifetime thing, definitely wouldn't wanna do this gain :P
btw this video does infact contain a subliminal message, see if you can find it.
