Lemon juice does actually purify the grime and dirt in eyes, but you shouldn't have done it directly. The acid can actually cause layers of your eye to wear away and could even cause permanant blindness. The lemon juice method is supposed to be 1 cup of purified water, and 4-5 drops of lemon juice. It works, with this recipe, but again straight lemon juice could have done serious damage. But it's over and done with now.
