Let me list Ellie's firsts, The first note oriented pan (the Ping Pong) this led to his 32 note Tenor pan that became the staple of all the bands in T&T from 1946 to mid 70's. The first fully chromatic pan, Rubber on the sticks, the first double pans, the first tripple pans, the strap around the neck and the sweetest pans even to now.
