John & Pip Murphy on the mouth organ, followed by Jim McGrath on the box and then some dancing and some happy slapping in the best possible sense.

  • Thanks for that video.

It was interesting to hear about single reed diatonic (blues harp) from John. There's couple of track played on diatonic on Murphy's album, i think it was played by John (Congress Reel... and Mickey the Moulder..). They are great musicians, very traditional and inspiring.

  • @ThumbAndFingers Thanks for the note and intertesting info.

  • That was great. I really enjoyed it. Do you play the chromatic harmonica?

  • I do, very rarely though.

  • The Murphy's of Wexford are well known mouth organ players. Eddie Clare of Cavan (friend of mine) was also a great mouth organ player. He passed away all too early about three years ago.

  • I have seen another video of them just the other day. Great playing.
