  • I don't know why Takara was terrible at porting games to the SNES but if you were an SNK fighter fan and couldn't afford a Neo Geo the Genesis was the place to go.

  • @Obviously It sure does seem that way doesn't it?

  • Nice comparsion! I haven't played the SNES version but it sounds like I'm not missing much. :)

  • @johnnyjohnson No sir, no you are NOT.

  • ha you can see billy kane in the background with a girl at 2:13!!!!!But anyway i have to say i grew up with genesis version and i must say, that the genesis version is 10000x better than the snes version.i bought the snes version about 7 years ago and i just couldn't get into it.the genesis version all the way and thanks for the comparision.i was looking for a comparison for quite a while.

  • @Chepito2846 Agreed man. The SNES version is so terribly awkward to play.

  • To bad the Genesis version wasn't 16-Meg it could have the 2 missing characters and stages. Other then that the only thing that let me down on the the Genesis were the graphics which could have been better for sure. The music is great on the Genesis and the game play is solid as well.

  • @123doomdoom

I didn't quite mean they were terrible, I just feel they always did a better job on the Genesis ports. The tiny sprites in SNES Samurai Shodown always bothered me.

  • I thought the Genesis graphics held up pretty well.

  • totally agree with you the snes version is unplayable the same thing happens with fatal fury 2 yes the snes version is an upgrade from fatal fury 1 but the genesis has better game play

  • I don't think takara was terrible at porting games. I find the Fatal Fury 2 versions of Snes and Genesis to be quite faithful to the Neo geo/Arcade version, for example.

  • @snowcon3 I agree it is that way with Fatal Fury and Samurai Shodown, but I believe Art of Fighting takes the lead on the SNES.

  • wow, that is actually pretty crazy. I grew up on the SNES version, so I thought the two planes style gameplay started with Fatal Fury 2!! WOW! I heard the Gens ver. was missing two characters, so I passed on it. But after seeing this, I'll have to track it down, solid controls and what looks like excellent grafx and music fills this version!! THANK YOU!

  • Genesis was far better. True for most SNK ports, including Art of Fighting.

  • No multi-plane system just makes Fatal Fury a second rate Street Fighter 2.
