The goal of this session is to get Ruby to relax and lower his head. At least that's my understanding from the little I've learned about endotapping. He is a clicker trained horse and it's strange to be working with him this way and not be giving him more information. He has a very nice 'Wait' and I think he thought he was just supposed to stand and wait while I tapped...?? In the end I couldn't resist and showed him I wanted him to drop his head using a tongue click to mark the behaviour. But I don't think that this is the way I want to get relaxation...? I think the tapping is supposed to relax him and his should drop from that..?? If anyone has advice, please chime in!

  • at abut 1:52 he seems irritated by it all. My boy would be very upset with this type of process. I would be curious to see what would happen without halter and lead? Sorry, I'm stickin with ct. 0% pressure, 100% acceptance by the equine.

  • He would just walk away without my holding him so he clearly didn't like it. Nor did I!! :-) I gave it a try though....

    Nothing is 0% pressure but I like your sentiment. I saw your video of your tarp! Fabulous stuff!!

  • This stuff really works I have 3 TB's that are off the track and it really helps them relax before I ride!

  • Remember to be aware of the resist/ignore/relax cycle. My mustang responded very nicely if I tapped rapidly and lighly (and even lighter) at the first sign of relaxation. Then I increased the tempo but not the intensity to go through the second resist phase. The very first day I did endotaping, I had her doing the Passage and Piaf in hand on the near side within 45 minutes. 15 minutes on the off side. I've been to a good number of JP's clinics and learned more in one day than can be imagined.

  • ah wish the tarp was mine but its not, but it so makes me laugh. I'm just starting ct and loving all the info out there. And the results are incredible. I guess the old adage "less is more" really is true:)

  • at :16 in your video your horse started dropping his head down this is when you quit tapping.he is starting to realx.when he lifts his head up again start the tapping and at the first sign of him dropping his head like at :16 quit tapping.

  • HI ;

    nice video and nice horse... i have been tapping my horses and had a couple of comments that might help...are you on the endotapping group on yahoo?

    ...from my experience your horse is doing well, but you might be focusing on the 'goal' of head down too early. a couple of mine did the half way thing the first day then on the next days they went all the way down. i think they needed to feel safe in the inbetween. i found shorter sesions asking for less to be effective.
