I precisely tabbed all the bass guitar's notes in the original version of "Hosanna" by Hillsong United / Brooke Fraser.

Authors: Brooke Fraser
Copyright: 2006 Hillsong Publishing
Administration: Integrity Music, Inc.
Themes: Canonns, Christmas, Cross, Exaltation, Global, Hope, Hosanna, Palm Sunday, Storm, Take It All, And You Are

Have you ever done something easy so much and so exactingly that it became hard? That's what happened when I rehearsed this song on camera over and over again. I would miss one note or look stupid early in the song. I finished no matter what for the sake of practice, but then I would need to do one more take. I kept getting sloppier and sloppier as the takes added up into double digits. It probably didn't help that it was three or four in the morning that I was trying this. It'd been a long day and night, and I really wanted to stick with my at-the-time song-a-day pace. I found an early take where I thought I just looked weird and messed up, both just a little, which are debatable (please be kind). I used that as my final version. Then came the next hardest part of making the video, which is typing and placing the tabs. I got a little lazy in describing some of the notes in how many times they were played, but I at least tabbed out every note that I and the bassist on the track played. I hope you enjoy this a lot.

Please keep me in your prayers. I hope this helped.

P.S. I just watched and saw I mis-tabbed a note in the bridge I put four on the A STRING when it should be four on the E STRING. haha. oh well. I wish I could post my first tab that I scribbled on a piece of paper, which was what I worked off of for the video.

FROM @princessliz — sharing a scripture like you asked

John 12:12-13 (King James Version)
12On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

******* SCRIPTURE FOR SONG
I did a simple google search for the scripture this song covers, and I found nothing. If you know any verses that this song reflects, please share it with me, so I can post it for everyone to benefit from it! :)
******* SCRIPTURE FOR SONG

Lyrics (source- http://www.lyricstime.com/hillsong-united-hosanna-lyrics.html ):

I see the king of glory
Coming on the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes
The whole earth shakes

Yeeeah

I see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing
The people sing

[Chorus]
Hosanna
Hosanna
Hosanna in the highest [x2]

I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith
With selfless faith

I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We're on our knees
We're on our knees

[Chorus]

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me

Break my heart from what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdoms cause
As I go from nothing to
Eternity

[Chorus x2]

Hosanna in the highest

  • @princessliz — You are my hero! Thank you for sharing the scripture for this song! I am thinking about next doing a simple-bass-version of "Salvation Is Here," by Hillsong United. Will you have scripture for that song?

  • @princessliz — Thank you! Do you play the bass guitar? I don't have on PJ's in this video. I love pajamas though! Do you?

  • @AllThePupil — Tell that to Matt Tenni, because I played exactly what he played.

  • @LordJesus4Ever — Uh tank you. Uh tank you uh very much! What kind of bass do you have?

  • @patrickjd81795 — I generally can not play without a pick. I hope you find what you need in these videos.

  • @midsizemike — Thanks! Please do pray for me in all areas all the time! I know! There are so many—as I call them—"gifts" or "exploitables," where you're enabled to use cooler runs than maybe what used to be filled by playing the melody alone. Have you seen my newest video, which is for the 2010 song by Hillsong Live, "Forever Reign" (it's my current favorite song)? It has some bass roll-ups that are fun to play. I am editing "God Of Our City," by Chris Tomlin, right now. Stay tuned for it!
