For a complete report on the Team Cuba concerts, musicians, etc. see http://www.timba.com/artists/show/teamcuba?lang=en-US

This documentary includes concert clips and interviews with Juan Formell, José Luis Cortés, Adalberto Álvarez, Issac Delgado, Manolín El Médico de La Salsa, Paulo FG, David Calzado, Mayito Rivera, Ralph Mercado, Julio Montalvo and José Loyola.

Special thanks to the following people:
Richard Ortega López, Kevin Moore, Gabriel Wilder, Curtis Lanoue, Orlando Fiol, Magnus Lindgren and to the people at SF for inspiring me to subtitle this video and make the information available to a wider public and maybe help answer the question "what is Timba?". If you're already a fan, this documentary is an important historical document. If you're not into timba, maybe it will at least give you an idea of why the rest of us are so crazy about it .

  • I liked the honest comment of Juan Formell, as well. Helped me to understand (and accept better) the music (but I am 56 !!)

  • @Pianotec I'm glad to hear that. I wanted to post this video both for people who are already fans but also for people who are not so that they can maybe better understand what it is all about, even if they never become fans themselves.

  • es de pi**a, absolute insane playing.

Arango (I think that is him playing) at 23:50 is insane doubling the horn lines.

  • @tresero2862 Yep that's Arango. I'm amazed the trombones could [play it so cleanly. Nice stuff eh? :)

  • @sabor21 jajaja playing salsa "boricua", todo es cubano mi socio... nosotros estabamos en este desde hace mas de 100 anios... todo es nuestro jijijiji

  • @timberamayor Thanks, yes I had to push me and to listen better, I begin to appreciate some Timba (and the basic 3-2 rythm, which is always present too)

I like to dance and this is a music that is heard and danced here (among others). Lot of energy, but the "pop" aspects are not the best idea, to me. Roots still there however... lyrics....., Ok, but poetry is at the image of the world... (and the commercial vocation is audible) Happy Christmas !
