A hip warehouse-turned-art-district along the French Broad River in Asheville, NC.
The artists of Asheville's historic River Arts District open their doors for the biannual Studio Stroll, Saturday and Sunday, the second weekend of each June and November. Now boasting more than 110 artists and craftsmen of all kinds, the District has become a mecca for a vital creative community as well as an arts destination for people from all over the country.
There is an information tent at the intersection of Clingman, Roberts, Depot and Lyman Streets. Plenty of free parking is available throughout the area. 12 Bones, Roots Cafe & Deli and Clingman Café, are open for the Stroll.
Full color maps with directions and a list of participating studios are available at the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, The Asheville Area Arts Council, at River Arts District studios and at galleries and other locations around town.
Many studios are open throughout the year. Directions and more information can be found at www.riverdistrictartists.com or by calling 828-252-9122. Many artists keep regular retail hours year round. Check http://www.riverdistrictartists.com for a complete and up to date list.
