Nah its the American spec MKIII Supra...they got the 7M only the Japanese received the 1JZ in that series. Only in 1989 the 7M was available in the Japan MA70 Supra.

Actually the ct26 is a 46 trim stock... So sorry, even smaller than you thought.

Yes, the 1j revs higher and has a well flowing head, but I'd prefer my torque any day. I used to own a honda, and am done with the whole torqueless thing.

@jamaicanlovrboy i never said the 7m was more reliable. how could it be? The M series started back in the late 60's. But they can make more power than a 1jz. Thats been proven. Have yet to see any 1000hp 1jzs. Plus 7m came with a meezly 5 psi stock. 1jz was 12-14psi. If 7m was pushing that much it would eat it alive. The torque of the 7m is unmatched unless you get a vg30. jz series has the better internals and better flowing head. Its all personal preference when it comes down to it.

there is one 1300+ hp 7m in a rail style drag car. From what i see the mk3's have better traction out of the whole because the powerband is much smoother than a 2jz. built 2jz's are pretty gutless until say 3500rpms or higher, then its a huge surge of power. 7m distributes the power better through out the whole rpm range.

some you people are morons, if the 7mgte is so much better, why do most people with MK3 swap it for a 1jzgte, or 2jzgte, ill explain why the jz series motors are more reliable, you dont need to rebuild anything to make power and hold together, both the jz series motors start out with more power. matter of fact, other RWD platform car owners swap in jz motors, NOT 7mgte. some of you people who talk bad about the 1jzgte, cant afford it, so you decide to stick with the headache of the 7m

7m engines produce more torque tuned than a 1jz. The 7m is a 3.0 liter, and the 1jz is a 2.5 liter. More fuel = more power. So eat it.

THE 2JZGTE HAS 320 HP STOCK COMPARE TO THE 7MGTE WHICH HAS 232 HP. But build the 7mgte correctly and it is a reliable engine that can produce easily over 500 rwhp. 2jzgte will always be better over all, but dont think that 7mgte can never beat it

i got a 87 7m supra n/a-t and i was gona swap it with a 2jz and now hearing about all of this out of all 3 what is the better turbo motor that throws more power to the ground?
