Yeah you can run multiple apps at once. Somethings the iphone does better than the pre and vice versa....But if you use the pre for a while you'll start doing the gestures on other devices out of habit.

What about landscape view?

If you downloaded preware and installed it on your phone, you can patch your phone to have landscape view in messaging, email and webrowser mode.

Either downloading web os quick install or preware, is probably the best option for landscape view.

thats the ugliest piece of crap ive ever seen. This keyboard is so bad. Get iphone 3gs. You will get a 30x better keyboard. f*** palm pre. no offense
