  • Proves what an amazing and rugged aircraft the entire King Air series is. Also what great training these pilots had.

  • @N34RT ar least thay made it !

  • @dearbornerik If they had BOTH been properly trained and experienced, they WOULD NOT have hit the CABIN PRESS DUMP switch. The checklist says to "Raise the cabin altitude to lower the pressure differential and begin a descent." And, NO, the airplane did NOT depressurize when the windshield panel cracked . There are two very thick panels of glass for each of the two windshield halves.

  • These guys were made to look like Heros in this news story. Far from the truth, they totally pulled a Homer, all thanks to the great King Air 200. A lesser plane they would be dead.

  • What caused the windshield to break. Looks like they hit a deer but I kinda doubt that.

  • I heard they dumped the cabin then passed out for a bit.

  • One Phrase sums it up "KING AIR TUFF"

  • King airs are just amazing, and this video proves it. I suspect why all that happened was I think mabey something hit the winshield, depressurized the cabin, they pass out, they go into freefall go over VNE, THEN all the dents and the Elevator half gone happens. That's my interpretation.

  • GREAT TRANNING KEYED UP AND LANDED HELLL YA GREAT JOB GUYS !

  • @blast69

unless of course, all 3 panes suffer some sort of failure, In which case the cabin would depressurize. Granted, the probability of this happening is very low, it is still possible, and without know and seeing the actual aircraft component in question, Everyone here on you-tube is just being an "arm-chair examiner"
