I quickly glance over some of the features of the new Kel Tec RFB and I compare it to the Rock River LAR-8. The RFB is 100% ambidextrous with the ability to remove and set the charging handle on either side of the rifle. The Rock River LAR-8 is almost completely ambidextrous, the selector switch isn't on the right hand side but they make an accessory selector that is on both sides thus completing the 100% ambidextrous ability. Both rifles utilize the FAL metric magazine and neither rifle requires that the magazine be "rocked in" like that on a FAL, they both drop straight out.

  • You are a happy man having both of them.

  • @robin6512 It wouldn't be the 308 capital without them. The fact they use the same mags is awesome for me.

  • @the308capital man I just wished KEL_TEC would ship that RFB to Europe....

    FAL mag's enough here....

  • @robin6512 These things are hard to get in the US, let alone Europe. I got lucky.

  • Which one has the better effective range in your opinion?

  • @RogerKTran The LAR-8 is my long range shooter 400-600 yards, the RFB is for 200-300 yards and in. Both are capable of 500-600 yards no problem but I can push the LAR-8 out a bit longer.

  • cool vids man

  • @CdnShootingChannel Good to hear that the SU-16 has the good front sight. I just installed the indexing red lion rail on my Sub 2K. I'm thinking of getting the Bushnell TRS-25 red dot for it and a riser mount to co-witness. I will film it once it is complete. I'm still hoping for a 45 ACP Sub 2K, maybe someday. The Rem 700 is a reliable platform. And yeah, 308 all the way!

  • Oh Aaron you know I'll get one in time! I've got the S2K and the KSG is on order and I already have parts for the SU16, which btw in Canada does come with an aluminum front site. Once the are both in my house then I'll order an RFB. Did I mention I bought a Rem. 700 project gun? In .308 of course!

  • @CdnShootingChannel I like the RFB a lot. I had a broken extractor after 200 rounds when I first got it but Kel Tec took care of it, they have great customer service. I guess mine was very early production and they have since redesigned the extractor claw. Ever since then its been fine, I just wish 308 was cheaper! It has great balance and is very ergonomic. If you do get one I recommend installing a muzzle brake to further mitigate recoil and stabilize offhand shooting.
