Tomb Raider Underworld Cutscene 40: Amelia

Finally, the moment where we, Tomb Raider fans, were waiting for. The re-encounter with Amelia, Lara's mother. As you can see, poor Lara is telling her self her mother is dead. Even though she is right there, being a zombie. When I saw this, I almost cried! All the pain, sweat and tears she has been going through were for nothing... She was just helping Natla, and her goal was destroying the entire civilization.

Plus, in this cut scene I discovered how tall Natla was .. My god, she must be around 2 meters..!!!

Yes it was her mother, her face got messed up because of falling into the Eitr, or the travelling through the dias.

Easily one of the most poignant cutscenss of the entire series, especially considering how we had been led to think she would be alive and that "avalon" would be some sort of "nice" place. What struck me most about this scene has to be how Lara must be feeling considering the realization of how stupid it was to think her mother would be alive.

Not to mention, imagine how Amanda must be feeling over finding out what kind of place she was trying to get herself to *grin* But nice to see her good

i saw in advance that something would happen to amelia, tr is a dramatic game, but i was still shocked when i saw this scene, poor lara, she's such a strong woman, tr is the best series ever

@antony209494 Yes, Amelia was alive when she first got to Avalon, and yes, the Eitr (or those thralls) killed her. There are a lot of versions of what happened, but we don't know for sure.

And Avalon is sort of 'a place for the dead', so I guess that's what Alister meant (that, since he died, he would go to Avalon). At least that's the impression I got. :)

wait, is that doppleganger the same doppleganger from tomb raider 1 and anniversary, the one that copies your movements in a mirror image, but this time it looks like lara? cause i thought you kill her in the lava pit in that level!

- For anyone wondering -

The eitr turns living creatures into zombies, or Thralls. Laras mother must've fell into the eitr when she teleported, hence half of her is zombified. The midgard serpent would spray the Eitr into the atmosphere, turning everyone into thralls and creating the zombie apocalypse :D
