The "Yule Log" TV program is a holiday classic seen by millions of people around the world for generations. It's an historic film loop of a beautiful fire in the hearth a fireplace that runs continuously on Christmas.
Now, another loop is being planned that is sure to become a family tradition and international holiday classic: "The Christmas Cheetah." Shot by Rick Sammon and Juan Pons, known for the Digital Photo Experience podcast, the HD video concept is designed to bring a warm smile to children of all ages around the globe -- especially those in chilly locations.
Sammon & Pons shot the HD video clip that will be used in the 24-hour loop sequence with the Canon EOS 7D and Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS lens at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas. The dynamic duo was at Fossil Rim shooting videos for their Wiley Publishing DVD: Canon DSLR Video Master Class. The DVD is scheduled for released early in 2011. (We're actually serious about that.)
What you see here is the clip that the Sammon/Pons team plans to loop -- once the ground-breaking idea is picked up by a cable or web network.
Sammon & Pons are also running photography and HD video workshops in 2011 at Fossil Rim. During the workshops, Sammon & Pons plan to shoot "The Rockin' Rhino," a 24-loop that will make a rockin' New Year's Eve more fun than ever!

P.S. All kidding aside, in the video, every hair on the cheetah's face can is visible. The Canon EOS 7D delivers super-sharp images -- video and still.
I, for one, approve! =^[.]^=
