Further about prayer in school (specifically public schools): IMO, a child can pray, at appropriate times. For instance, starting a prayer out loud in the middle of a test would qualify as inappropriate in the same way reading poetry aloud in the same situation would. A child praying outside of class time in school at any time should be acceptable provided they're not forcing anyone else to do it, nor ridiculing people who aren't participating. Similarly, anyone mocking people FOR praying should be discouraged while in the school, for the exact same reasons.

@firefly4f4 im sorry but i think your facts are wrong, the anti religion rate is up and that causes people to go off the deep end thinking that there is no justice or a higher power to judge them besides the government to stop them. What is your evidence of such a higher power? The only one I see is future generations looking back and judging what was right and wrong, and current humans doing the same on other current and past humans.

Boneheads like yourself that have never served in the military don't have a clue what you are talking about. For starters when you live in a barracks you have to share a single room with 3 people that you can not choose. Do you think I want two gay guys kissing and making out 10 feet away from me. What am I going to say? They keep men and women in separate barracks and they are not allowed to visit for that reason. With gays nothing is going to stop them from having sex when ever they want.

@Mlwtca Your personal discomfort with their sexual preference is insufficient reason, for the same reasons some people being uncomfortable with another religion would be an insufficient reason.

My problem with this ad is that he makes it seem like a Christian in order to have some sort of moral, or political, superiority. There is a reason why there is a separation of state and church and I don't need to be attending a top university to know that concept was established for a reason. And what "liberal attacks on religion?" I am a Catholic and I have never felt any form of theological hostility from the American government. Oh well as long as he doesn't win presidency, we are fine!

I'm curious how you'd explain how the divorce rate among evangelicals is nearly if not the highest in the nation, whereas among the irreligious it's the lowest. Should I mention the relative percentage of the prison populations relative to religion?
