oh bless. I had a call to work one day so say that one of my tiels was flying around the living room. He had let himself out and, to put it mildly, he didn't want to go back in either!!!!

LOL, cockatiels are sneaky little creatures, not to mention very intelligent. My cockatiel leans forward on the perch that is by his food & water dishes, and pops the big door open with his head. We forgot to put the metal rod in one time (it keeps his cage door closed), and much to my surprise, at 5 a.m. I got up and when I went in the living room, upon turning on the light, I saw my bird, puffed up, asleep and on the fireplace hearth!
