Here is an overhead press from a side angle. I'm working on perfecting the form. Suggestions welcome.

I've learned from the ever-charitable propriator of 70sBig.com that...
1.My grip is too narrow. My forearms angle in slightly at the bottom and more so as you perform touch and go reps. I need to bump it out by a finger width or so. The forearms need to be vertical at the bottom.
2.I need to learn to finish the press with a straight torso, without tilting my pelvis back. That's going to require keeping my lower abs tight, and perhaps doing some weighted situps to strengthen them.

  • they look good to me, man. i'd say maybe try and get your elbows a little farther forwards on the rack position, and as you press the bar overhead, get your head and torso through faster, like the moment it's high enough to clear you should start getting under.

what's your BW? that's some decent press strength.

  • @adoboandryce Thanks man. I'm 192 lbs right now. I feel like my press really lags behind where it should be considering I can bench close to 300. I added what I'm going to work on to the description since I don't have enough characters here.

  • also remove the belt man, your core and lower back wont get any stronger whilst the rest of your body develops and will lead to injury if you ever train without the belt
