Please allow me to show you why I think Scite is the ultimate power editor and IDE of choice for Java programming, PHP, C or any other programming language. Unfortunately, it seems like nobody knows know how to set up Scite properly for programming on GNU/Linux (also available for Mac and Windows 7) and the default installation is crippled. If your call tips, keyword highlighting and symbol completion aren't working as intended, just download my configuration files from http://thenerdshow.com/java/scite.zip

You may have to set path to compiler in cpp.properties

"I like Windows 7 and I'm a let you finish installing, but GNU/Linux got some of the best free and legally copyable software of all time!"

  • How do you turn on autocomplete? I've been trying to get it to turn on but I can't understand the faq

  • @doorwindow7 It's probably missing the language definition file. I put a new link in the description to the ones I made.

  • How to do stuff from this video on windows? Holding Ctrl while selecting don't turn text into column of text.

  • @rapsod1911 You may have to get version 2.22 from the scintilla download page

  • vim and emacs can easily do what you showed in your video.

  • I like vim, but I have trouble sharing that sentiment.
