Knoxville, TN - 8/10/07

Recorded at the Late Nite Jam Session at the 2007 Grand Ole Gospel Reunion. Gerald Williams (Melody Boys), Scoot Shelnut (Dixie Echoes), Jonathan Sawrie (former Melody Boy), Josh Garner (former Florida Boy), and Andrew Ishee (former Palmetto State & Kingsmen pianist) put together a scrap iron quartet to sing a classic that Gerald sang with the Plainsmen for many years. This was one of the highlights of the 2007 Reunion.

Thanks to Standley Taylor for the video footage!

2013 - Arkansas and Oklahoma have been blessed recently to have Jonathan Sawrie attending our singing conventions. He both sings (sometimes, a solo) and plays the piano at these conventions. Still a very good singer and musician.

I know this question was asked over a year ago by apexeon1, but I think the writer was named Marion Easterling. The song was published in many song books from the era of the late 1950s and early 1960s.

London Parris and The Apostles (The Rebels) did a great job on this song, however, this is the best I've ever heard and it's got such an impulsive feeling. -luv it -Les

Gerald started singing in 1949 at age 16 and that should make him 76 years old and he is one of the best out there today!

Any idea who wrote this song. I know there is a video of the Speer family doing a version. I would like to get some sheet music if I could find it.
