I see a-lot of posts here from very young fans saying where they were when the Hawks won the cup. As a fan of the Isles who saw his team win their first cup at the age of 8 in 1980, I can tell you you will never forget every part of that day. From the temp outside, to the sounds you heard, the smells you smelled, the people you talked to, that is forever now burned into you like it was for me 32 years ago.
Enjoy to its fullest, because it's truly a special moment.
Cheers.....

Amazing how quickly that franchise turned it around after penny pinching Wirtz died. That old mans death was the best thing that ever happened to that franchise since he bought it.

I can admit. I cry. I'm 15, I'm a guy, and I started liking the Hawks back in the 08-09 season when I went to my first game. Before that it was all just a "stupid sport" as I was an arrogant kid. I cry because hearing this, I just remembered seeing my dad, who has been a Hawks fan for 45 years now. Grew up with them, cried on the day they won the cup. Not because it was a victory, but because his father was a die-hard Hawks fan. I never got to know him. But everytime I hear it I think of them.

@zzyzx0788 i bet you got a better view than me: i watched them go down the street but didnt see anything of the rally: there were so many fans blocking the street, so i went across the chicago river into some restaurant, and watched it on tv:/ but i did see the Stanley Cup: the massage therapist lives in my neighborhood, so he brought it to the fire station, and i got to kiss it after about 5 hours of waiting! sorry im a sox fan, but still a big bears fan, and disappointed after this season :(

@2002Smalls I can imagine, I'm still waiting for the Cubs and Bears to do the same for me lol. The Hawks Cups win was still amazingly nonetheless and I was still glued to the TV that whole time that year. And yes thank god we didnt react the way Vancouver did when they lost! I wish I could have found a ride to the parade but it was still a blast to watch on TV

@zzyzx0788 its sad that the hawks's rebirth began with a death, and i cried once we won it all! i couldnt believe it, and just like the commercial, words can't describe the feelings you get. untill you've been a part/fan of a team coming this far, you feel like your on top of the world, and i loved that unlike lots of championship teams, we never had a riot, we didn't really know how to react, thank god we did in a good way! and hell yea i was one of the 2 million people at the parade downtown!

@BLOCK19PRODUCTIONS I wish Bill Wirtz had not been in charge of the Blackhawks growing up in the 90s, I amazingly don't remember the Hawks ever been on in my very sports heavy household, I was never lucky enough to be a Hawks (and hockey) fan til the Rocky Wirtz era. But oh well, I got enough this one, and probably many more!
Hawks will win another 2 or 3 Cups before the 'Nucks ever win their first.
