Locomotion and Motor Control
The newborn baby lies with his pelvis high and knees drawn up. By one month his knees are kept farther away from his body, and he can lift his chin and shoulders. Other areas of the body gradually become controlled so that by six months the baby can sit unaided and by ten months he can usually crawl. At about one year the baby begins to take his first steps.
