Well there is plenty of talk here that the Liberal MLC, that is our Upper House here, David Clarke is being attacked in every way politically by that fellow you have heard me talk about before the Member for Mitchell Alex Hawke.

Hawke's games of destabilisation, bullying and all the rest of it go on...it is amazing isn't it? If it continues Kristina Keneally will be laughing all the way to the next election. It is no good Barry O'Farrell writing a reference for David Clarke whom I am told is a very good man. I have met the man once. But, you have got the President of the Liberal Party Nick Campbell supporting this fellow Hawke. And, what is the Liberal Party doing about all this?

Congratulations to the Sydney Morning Herald which today does not miss in its attack against Hawke and Campbell in an editorial which says of Hawke, quote, "this determination to pursue an agenda that appears to be all about power and personality and little about policy and principle and against the wishes of the state and Federal leaders who have both endorsed Clarke points to a sickness within the NSW Liberals."

This is in an editorial in the Sydney Morning Herald today. It says "how can they expect to have credibility with the electorate even when the party leaders are ignored by feuding factional warriors?". It says "this is especially true of O'Farrell who is yet to show the breadth and depth of policy initiatives that would restore voter confidence". It says the episode has been distasteful to Abbott who abhors what he calls factional obsessives within his party.

The editorial says "Hawke may be about to extend his factional power though it could come at a price far greater than the prize. Within the federal Liberal Party he could be seen as a man not to trust let alone follow". It says "the Liberals have long been able to able to refer to the faceless men and back-room operators in Labor. The editorial says many Liberal voters are wondering if the same syndrome doesn't effect their own party.

An excellent editorial in the Sydney Morning Herald and it is correct. This man cannot be trusted. His name is Alex Hawke, he is the Federal Member for the seat of Mitchell and my file just mounts everyday with people writing letters similar to the sentiment s of the editorial.

Far from removing Clarke from the NSW parliament it is Hawke who should be removed from the Liberal Party and the Federal parliament if the party has any standards and any sense of discpline.

And, if the preselection in Mitchell next time around it to be half democratic Hawke may well find himself on the political scrap heap. it would be well deserved fate and well earned. It would be a smelly scrap heap nonetheless.

  • Hawke is such an incompetent fool. He buckles in the face of opposition from a teenage girl.

I could really see this guy becoming a dictator of a third world country if he had the chance.
