My black and silver zippo's are real zippo's, the gold one isnt !
First of all I go through some of the things you WILL need for your zippo. You will need
1. A zippo ofcourse, dosnt matter if it's not a genuine zippo
2. Zippo Fuel. You will find zippo fuel at card stores and tobacconists, Be sure to by the good black zippo brand it will keep your lighter in tip top condition unlike the cheap yellow fuel I show you un the video
3. Flint's. Flints are what creates the spark. they are made from flintstones. (yeah i know the flinstones very funny haha....not) Anyway they come in a clear plastic holder and the holder will be attached to a black cardboard pieve that will confirm the zippo brand. Simply Remove the yelow spring using the casing of your zippo or a swiss army knife as I have. then bang the zippo upright on a table to get the old flint out. The slid the new one in, push the spring back in and twist it up a bit, then securely tighten it with a flat head screwdriver or your zippo casing then down, your zippo will now strike easier every time. I tend to change my flint every time it starts to get hard to flick.
4. A spare wick. To put the wick in simply pull out all the cotton, pull out the old wick with tweezers, then push the new wick in until it is level with the chimney, then put a layer of cotton on each curve of the wic and push back in as simple as that. It helps to use tweasers
And to refill your zippo simply pull off the casing and pour the zippo fuel into the zippo's cotton until it seems relativley soggy, i say about 10 seconds, then put the casing back on and leave for a few minutes. Some people take the cases off there zippo and put the inside upside down on a bench to try and get the fuel to flow nicely, you can try it if you like after all it is your zippo, and you can experiment however you like.
What to do if you get fuel on your hands !
If you spill some or over fill your zippo, the first thing you do is put your zippo back in the casing and go wash your hands, wait about 2 minutes before trying to light it. I was showing my little cousin how to fill a zippo and I spilt a heap on my hands but I didnt care because I always did and it didnt bother me, but this time I spilt a bit to much and when I lit it my left hand caught alight and i threw the zippo to the ground and tried to wack my hand out but it was still on fire so I ran to the bathroom wich luckily enough wasnt to far away and poured ice cold water over it for half an hour. it didnt burn me but the heat from it made my hand sting for 2 weeks and I couldnt play any sport it really stung like hell because it burnt the entire protective layer of my hand but it didnt burn the flesh, so my hand was uber sensitive for 2 weeks.
this vid sux useless waste of time
