Another comparison video between my two video cameras.

This time between two sonys.

Firstly the cheap but handy Sony DCR-HC27E, which uses miniDV tapes, and secondly, the more expensive 40gb Hard Disc Drive Sony DCR-SR290E

The SR290E DID have an optional extra Microphone and wind cover fitted

  • Excellent vid. Definitely the 2nd one.

  • I just noticed that the path of the animals are the same for both videos.

How can that happen if you took the shot with two different cameras at the same point?

  • hdd was better, just look for detail, for example look at animal that runs most far :) however i think your minidv had simply worser spec, maybe resolution too, so it would explain it

  • both have good quality but the hdd has hours of recording.

  • I own a sony dcr hc 27e, my parents gave it me on Christmas, 2 years ago!

it's a pleasure filming with it! Simple, Funny, Cool!

  • Hi Jiffyman, Happy new year m8. Better sound on second clip also I would go for the HDD version. MiniDV Tapes still degrade over time so you may get pixelisation at a later date.

  • second one

  • The second one ;)

  • nice vid! i like the HDD better for alot of reasons thats why i bought a JVC HDD camcorder lol
