  • Very cool. I was raised on Zouk and LOVE the dance/music. However, I am also aware that we cannot homogenize "Zouk". There are various types of Zouk dances. 1) Zouk Love 2) Zouk-Lambada 3)Angolan Kizomba 4) and Cape Verdean Cola-zouk dance. In your video, I noticed the Zouk-Lambada being danced and not the others. Therefore, I would suggest specificity in discussions of Zouk. Any rate, I would your video interesting. Thanks!

  • Zouk is a copycat of Kompa from Haiti, the original root of this music and it is not new in the U S. Kompa festival had been taken place in Miami and it is about 10 years now, and there will be on in May, Another one in 4th of July weekend in Orlando, plus Montreal Canada and Boston. Google it and read the entire encyclopedia.
