The view from the Chalong Pier Rawai
This video was taken on the Chalong Pier in Rawai, if you have never been to this pier I highly recommend it, when you stroll down the pier you will see a lot of local expats and Thais fishing off the side of the pier, so it is a worthwhile place to fish. If you are looking for some good Rawai beach shots, you can really get some good pictures and video from this location. One thing I like about the Chalong pier is when you walk to the end of it you can see the entire Rawai beach from north to south.
Rawai Beach Phuket is located on the eastern side of Phuket Island, the eastern shore beaches are not the best to swim in, I often, about once a week head down to Chalong pier and swim the length of the beach, the water is very clean and I would recommend it to any beach goers.
One of the most beautiful sites on Phuket is the Thai fishing boats, when you arrive to Rawai, you will be amazed at all the beautiful fishing boats anchored in the water, during sunrise the view could not be more pristine, be sure to bring your camera, you will get some excellent Rawai bay shots with the surrounding islands in the background, I believe if you kept at it enough you could probably get some good post card material camera shots here, it really is that beautiful.
You will find a great variety of seaside restaurants along Rawai, one of the best is located on the North end of the beach; Nikitas which has been around a long time and the setting is the best in Rawai. So during your time in Phuket, take a ride down to Rawai, explore the many different restaurants, walk along the Chalong pier, you will truly enjoy this area of Phuket.
Thank you so much for stopping by and check back often for more of my Phuket videos. Do you love Phuket as much as I do? This is not the Chalong Pier, but the pier in Rawai. The Ao Chalong pier is about 5 km north. Still a great place to visit.
