Martha Reeves of the Vandellas said once they were at the Apollo on the same bill as Major. and he ventured to far to edge of the stage. he was yanked off. cufflings and watch..Ripped off. it took Six of the other artists to get him away from the crowd. she said he was shaken. and hair messed up..but ok..He tried to appease the crowd by throwing a hankie..but some man through it back..the watch and cufflings were another matter..they didnt throw them back..lol.poor fellow.he dosent weigh much.

Major could take incredibly written songs by Curtis Mayfield and make them greater and then he takes an OKed (pun intended) song and makes it memorable too.

You are a lucky guy .. this man was fantastic.. he ooooosd soul from top to bottom.. I saw him live at The Goldern Torch in the UK in the 70s.. what a night we all had.
When i pass his performance is one of the many things i want to recall.. God Bless Major Lance.
