Scotty was just being a loving Christian when he hugged everyone after his win. He also said I love you to James Durbin, didn't he? Even when he was talking about Lauren he was just saying she is real character, and eve said he doesn't have enough nice things to say about her. You can see he wants a plain hometown girl as he repeatedly has said. He also said he doesn't want the one with all make-up and high heels. which is Lauren. Scotty wants his normal life, a country boy, Lauren wants fame .
