FFIV The After Years - Gathering's Tale: The Moon's Gravity - Cave of Elban

This is another optional area.

The goal is to reach the entrance of the Tower of Babil. The enemies here are tough but not hard if you hit the original level cap of 40. This is good for experience.

Along the way, you'll run into a townsperson from Mythril. He will trade small tails for colored ones. These colored tales are the same as the ones that were dropped from special monsters in the character tales. The small tales are invisible objects found on the world. Yes, they can be found ANYWHERE on earth, be it town, dungeon, or even invisible clearing on map that leads to a small area. Not only that, they are found in anything as well, such as a box or a vase of flowers or even a skeleton. Very hard to find so you have to search everything in your travels. there are 21 tails in total, but don't confuse them when you find a Small Tale, which just acts like a potion.

You can only get 2 or three colored tales for him depending on what you pick. All single colored tails cost 7 small tails, so you could get three of those. Or, you could pick a Rainbow Colored tail for 14 small tails. This is the only place in the game to get a rainbow tail. The other tails can be found as drops by enemies in the Final Tale. All tales can finally get traded for super rare and powerful items in the final final tale. The Rainbow tail can be traded for a Limit Ring which will allow the wearer to break damage limit past 9999. In my playthough, i got a rainbow and white tail.

At the end, you have a small scene, confirming the fact that you can't get in. As you all leave at once (which should tell you something is going to happen), a Marquis Malboro attacks. As long as you have some equipment that protects from one status aliment, his Bad Breath attack will always miss. Just use wail on him. The reward for beating him is a Kiku-ichimonjii, the most powerful sword for Edge this tale.

Next, as the party exist the cave, they see Elban on fire, so we rush to dot hat next.
