Danny Kaye was off the wall for sure. Unique yes indeed. He appeared with Black and White artists with equal and mutual respect for both. Gay? Camping it up more like. As for Harry Belafonte, well, here's another unique entertainer. Apart from other things he did, he was a great influence towards making Calypso popular.Was Harry gay? I don't know, and don't care. What does it matter in this context? Enjoy the entertainment for what it is. I did.

Danny Kaye wasn't gay...unless you simply mean "happy". He was married for decades to his lovely wife Sylvia Fine, who is credited for writing most of his witty song routines all the way back to 1944.
