Chris flying the $39 EXI 450 with Belt CP Power System and DX6i

Getting the feel for the EXI 450 after switching over to the DX6i from the stock tx. MUCH improvement over the stock tx. Fatdaddy from rcguides.com helped me with the setup and it really flies nice and smooth

My Setup for this flight is:

EXI450 kit - $40 xheli com - w00t!
Power System from a Belt CP:
- 3800kv esky motor
- 25a esky ESC
- esky pro HH Gyro (from BCP v2)
- 1800mah esky battery
11 tooth pinion (I'm told I should be running a 12)
Spektrum AR6110 receiver
DX6i transmitter
Align trex 450 main gear/one way bearing
Cyclic servos are Tower Pro 9g ($4 ea - xheli.com)
Tail Servo is esky digital servo from BCP


The gyro/tail servo desperately need upgraded. Temp changes make it wacky

how did you fit the motor on the exi? my exi 450 se v2 wont fit its too short

I took the old pinion off, using a pinion puller. The I got an 11T from HeliDirect. Go to Motor Pinions > 300 Class > Rhino Ultra Hardened Steel Pinion 11T 2.3mm. That pinion is longer than the stock one - it will work fine.

Looking good only thing I would replace ASAP is that Esky ESC those things are well known to burn&smoke causing crash if in mid flight.

I used Esky stuff on my EXI build and one was the Esky 25A ESC it caught fire one day luckily was on spin up and not mid flight.

Can get a 30A Exceed ESC for $17

That looks like fun. It sure is smooth. How much different was the DX 6 over the stock TX? I here a good TX makes a lot of difference. Also they are a lot more sensitive unless you tone it down some.

Looks like a good kit to get after salvaging the remains of a Belt-CP. I still have my original version Belt-CP that was purchased about 3 yrs. ago. Still brand new and sitting in storage. Hope to fly it this summer.

im thinking of getting an exi 450 an putting the guts of the belt cp v2 but i have a problem i have a vid that explains it ,its the only one ......i want to know which parts i can use to put on my ei 450 kit thats coming on dec.15
