Orion Spacecraft Moon Mission Animation

The Orion is a spacecraft design currently under development by the United States space agency NASA. Each Orion spacecraft will carry a crew of four to six astronauts, and will be launched by the Ares I, a launch vehicle that is also currently under development. Both Orion and Ares I are elements of NASA's Project Constellation, which plans to send human explorers back to the Moon and then onward to Mars.

NASA announced Tuesday (05/24/2011) its plan to build a spacecraft that will fly astronauts into deep space, going as far as near asteroids and even Mars.

The new spacecraft, called the Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, will be based on an earlier concept for the Orion vehicle, a spacecraft originally intended to ferry astronauts to the moon, the space agency announced during a press conference.

@DragonJedi0 Nixon hated Apollo because it was a brainchild of his predecessor Kennedy, Nixon cancelld the last 3 Apollo missions even tho the hardware was already built. Obama hates the Orion program because of its connections to Bush. That is why he cancelled it. It IS cancelled. The spacecraft necessary to do what the animation shows have been CANCELLED by B. Hussein Obama.
