  • The emergency brake pedal doesn't lock on a 2000 taurus. What could be wrong?

  • @styles950 You may want to check the brake pedal cable to see if it has broke.

  • @1aauto I took it to a shop to have a heater core put in and when it came back it wasn't working. Could it be they just 4got to reconnect something?

  • @styles950 You may want to bring it back to the shop that worked on it for you. It may be something as simple as an air pocket in the cooling system. hope this helps.

  • Hey, I think my cable snapped right at the emergency brake pedal itself...

My e-brake petal is stuck pressed all the way down, and the brake is not engaged.

What parts do you think need replacement?

    Thanks!

  • @jNofdog Possibly a new cable. You would have to look under the vehicle to see what has broken first.

  • @1Youmadbro1 It sounds like the cable could be broken. Place the car on a level surface, and secure the wheels so that it doesn't roll. Then look under neath and see if the cable has broke on you.

  • @banaman18 Try cranking up and down on the handle 5-6 times. It may self ratchet and adjust for you.Hope this helps.

  • So i have a 1999 jetta, its a manual, and the emergency brake works if i pull it all the way up with 2 hands, and even then its not very strong. What do i need to do?? Thanks love ur vids

  • When I pull my E-Brake all the way up there is no resistance and the car doesn't stop moving when I park it, it just rolls down the hill. I have 2 by 4's behind the tires right now and it hasn't moved in about 2 days is it the parking brake cable? Can I fix it myself? Thank you!
