I don't get why people are offended by this. Truthfully, I don't think this is all that funny, but I do think it's honest and probably something stubborn family members should be exposed to. There's nothing more frustrating than a family who won't let someone go, even when it's what they want. =P Well, except people who come to the ER willingly, then refuse to cooperate.

Anyone that is offended by this is just silly and clearly has never had a loved one in this condition or cared for one. It is sad that people can see the humanity and cause for euthanizing their animals but somehow can't identify with allowing the dying to just die. Thank you and very creative.

I love this DNR song very much. You are singing my thoughts exactly. I want to be a DNR. I never want to be in ICU and on a Ventilator. I want to be in a private room and spend what time I have left with my friends and family. I am willing to be medicated, esp. for pain. I worked as a Respiratory Therapist for 40 years and I have seen so much suffering. ICU is not a quiet place to spend your last days. I want family around me as much as possible. Thank you. Flo

Great vid! I love Nickleback's song Rockstar. I also am terminal (about 6-8 months left). I have a DNR order as well. It is a waste of money as well as painful trying to sqeeze an extra week or two out of a person's body that is worn out or to badly diseased or hurt to survive. I want to be at peace, not hooked up to machines because of someone elses beliefs or desires.

Evidentally you have never watched your parent suffer and die from cancer or any other awful disease or this would not upset you so much. My mom died from cancer and I fully understand where this is coming from.

@Lynn Jackson. Your an idiot better get thicker skin or find a different profession. Maybe bagging groceries for you would be appropriate?

I think that this song is hilarious. I also think you have to have a 'special' personality to enjoy the morbid (or work in the medical field). A true test of character is finding the humor (that is much needed) in the periles of what life hands you. Good job, and btw lynneajackson222, there is a stop button on your computer if you don't like what you are seeing.
Good Job Yellowlab!

Well done. I've been an RN for 7 years and this truly does encompass so much that we deal with on a daily basis. I just had to deal with my grandfather passing away in December. He had a very aggressive form of cancer which took him about a month and a half after he was diagnosed. His kids (my aunt and uncle) couldn't see it for what it was and didn't make him DNR/hospice until the week before he died. He was in horrible pain before that. If you don't like this song, sorry, but welcome to life.

That was awesome! Anyone in healthcare will appreciate this one.
I think it was in very poor taste, and whoever made it should be considering a new career, perhaps bagging groceries.

@lynneajackson222 Thanks for your opinion. I never dreamed that this video would get passed around like this. I lost my dadin 2007 and it was his wish not to be kept alive on machines so we actually placed him on Hospice. They were wonderful and we spent the day before he died playing all his favorite songs together. I didn't mean to offend anyone, honestly. I have difficulty when patient's wishes are not met.
