  • I got a replacement, and it does the same thing in lower light. I hope they fix it with some firmware.

  • Myopic08, That sounds like it exactly. They go away when it brighter light, then you can see them literally "pop" back on the screen when back in lower light.

    The camera did not do this the first day I had it at all. Then we tested it in 6 inches of water, and when it came out, it did this on and off. I am sending it back to Amazon for an exchange.

  • Woah. Mine doesn't have two big black smudges, it has one big SOLID black spot in the upper right corner. -__-

  • Its a common problem which has to do with the low light "sensor." It doesnt occur when video is taken outdoors in natural light. When switched to indoors, the low light kicks in and adds a vignetting effect with spots. Hopefully Kodak will recognize and correct this issue with a new firmware upgrade.
