@theBBQninjaRocks I kept my rat in a 10 gal. However she only slept in it, and roamed the house during the day as she liked. But it was never hazardous to her health, and she lived to be about 4 years old.

Alright due you need a bigger wire cage with at least one cage mate for that little guy if you're going to keep him, otherwise he'll live a pretty terrible life, just saying.

@kmaylone810 my dumbo rat Storm's nickname is Dog Food cause he keeps trying to go downstairs to play with my 100 pound lab sheperd mix. trying to figure out how he has not been eatten yet. (my dog used to kill mice and rats)

lol My exs snake went into hibernation early and didnt eat the rat we got. I named her Dinner so I wouldnt get attached, she has been my loving pet now for over a year :) She now has a play mate named Gravy.

Oh, P.S. is that a 10 gallon? Way too small dude! If you are keeping it in a tank, at least give it a 60 gallon tank! Normally you hould keep it in a wooden or wired rabbit pen! Or a normal sized guinea pig cage! A hamster could barely fit in that tank!
