Jeff Carlisi the guitarist and songwriter from 38 special performs Hold On Loosely for a guitar clinic in Texas. He still plays great and is a really down to earth guy too!

  • I'm at the camp up in cleveland now and he's supposed to be up here on thursday. one of the 'bands' i'm in for the camp is covering 'hold on loosely' so now i'm scrambling to memorize the solo before then. fun stuffs, but not all that easy.

  • just finished band camp last week and it was great! Wish I could do it again this summer. Good luck on the solo and post a vid if you can.

  • how much does that camp cost? I'm from Akron.

  • not sure on current price so check their website. If you get a chance to go, do it. Very cool week!

  • Always loved this guys style, he's been a huge influence on the way I play!!!!

  • Jeff has a wonderful melodic style

  • This brings back a ton of memories for me because I listened to a lot of .38 special way back in the 80's and even saw them in concert once in albany, georgia when their "strength in numbers" album came out back then.

  • In your description, what do you mean by "he still plays great"? Was he supposed to have forgotten how to play?

  • Does anyone know whether Carlisi uses the Travis Style Picking technique in most of his riffs if at all?

  • And people thought Sothern Rock and Roll was easy to play....

  • I wonder what Jeff Carlisi is doing now?I know he isn't in 38 special anymore.

  • I'm obsessed with this solo, It's really tough to learn. Their are a lot of different techneques going on.

  • makin' that baby sing jus' like he always did... left the band but, never lost his touch

    teach 'em GOOD,teach 'em HARD
