Wild ARMs 4 Raquel solo - Ragu O' Ragla (no Sheriff Star)

This is a segment from my Raquel solo run. The rules are as follows:

-Characters other than Raquel can only Guard.
-Characters other than Raquel must be under level 10 (this is done by equipping the Monopoly Gourd on Raquel).
-Characters other than Raquel must use their initial equipment. No Alter Parts may be used for Jude's ARM.
-No items that can be only gotten through New Game+ carry overs can be used.

This is done on New Game+ only to have access to the Monopoly Gourd to keep other characters' levels in check. Nothing carried over from the previous playthrough will be used.

This is Ragu O' Ragla, the ultimate superboss of the game. He is found in the Etemenanki tower, behind where Enil was. To fight him, you have to find four specific items and put them on the altars. For this battle, I'm throwing in Equites. I tried it without and Raquel just doesn't have the accuracy to hit him.

Ragu's tough. Really tough. He has 650,000 HP (over 3x as much as the next highest), lots of defense, evasion, speed, and attack power. He only has three attacks: his physical melee attack, Agony Effect, and One Trillion Degrees, a fire magic attack that hits the whole field for about 25,000 damage. No, that's not a typo. Yes, the max HP is 9,999.

So how do we survive One Trillion Degrees? We don't. We hope he never uses it. It IS survivable, as it only does a little over 5000 damage when guarding with Resist Fire and a Chick Badge. But it's too unpredictable, so guarding won't work. So we try and kill him before he ever uses it.

Since this is the most complex setup so far, I'll explain it fully, as just about each part must be perfect in order to succeed. The equipment (Equites/Cromwell) are self-explanatory, since they are the best weapon and armor in the game. The badges may not be. Punching Glove is there in hopes of a Finest Arts attack. It never activated in this run, so I guess it's not needed. The more you know. Prism Staff gives 25 FP when in critical. Combine this with Red Zone abuse and we can get lots of Intrudes in. Laurel Crown doubles healing, making sure Mega Berries will fully heal Raquel's HP.

Level 97 is needed for this battle. Not 98, not 100, not 96. 97. All GC points need to be spent in getting the final Class Level, both for stats, and for reducing Raquel's max HP. Furthermore, the GC point bar must be set so Raquel has 5043 HP. One notch to either side will mean death.

Why so much detail? Because outside of One Trillion Degrees, Ragu's damage is pretty consistant. It will do anywhere between 4040 and 5000 damage (actually I think a little above 5000 but below 5043 still) with Raquel's stats under this setup. Raquel will go into Red Zone if she takes between 4009 and 5042 damage. So every time Ragu attacks, Raquel gets a turn. With Prism Staff, she'll also get 25 FP. With Laurel Crown, she can use a Mega Berry to heal up to full on her first Intrude turn, and attack on the second. And then Ragu will attack, and the whole thing repeats until either Ragu dies or he uses One Trillion Degrees. Fortunately, he died first!

So there you have it. Not only is Ragu beatable without a Sheriff Star, but he is beatable without a Sheriff Star with Raquel alone. Also, whoever says Raquel isn't broken is a LIAR.

Level 97
Equites - 2000 ATP, 5 ACN, +50 HIT
Cromwell - 590 DFP, 470 MGR, +20 EVA
Punching Glove - Randomly changes a critical attack to Finest Arts (25% chance normally).
Prism Staff - +25 FP every time the wearer goes into critical HP.
Laurel Crown - Doubles healing.

why are you always moving before attacking? does it raise FP?

also, since you're moving that much, why not put a Ebony Shadow badge? (maybe the raise in RFX wouldn't be much compared to Ragu...)

and lastly, why not using Holy Berries instead of Mega?

it takes too long to produce? that wait you wouldn't waste a badge slot for Laurel...

Raquel has a skill called Power Charge, which increases her ATK by 1/8 when she takes a non-offensive action. At one point I thought this activated from moving, but I'm not sure.

Holy Berries require Hi-Item, which means Raquel cannot use them.

As for the Super Jude Bros. stages, well, my tuner has a nasty delay attached to it, which makes platforming difficult. Also, it's broke now and I need to get a new one.

For Power Charge, I think you need to take no offensive action during a turn, but moving and attacking take place during the same turn. I guess it doesn't cost anything to do it though...

From SplitInfinity FAQ: "Raquel gains ATK bonus for each turn she takes no offensive action; her ATK resets to default when offensive action taken."

Well, if Raquel moves into a poisoned hex before attacking, she still takes poison damage. I also believe hex effects can wear off after Raquel moves as well. Same with Tiny Flower's effect wearing off. So in some ways the game does count it as another turn. But it may not count it for Power Charge or some other things. I don't know for sure.

Anyone else hate it that you get aboslutely nothing for defeating Rago Ragla in WA4? I mean, it even has some lore in this game. You'd think they would at least put an item or cutscene after beating the King of Monsters.

1 trillion degrees can even be dodged with a goat doll.If you are lucky,after it,you may be able to play with Raquel,if you do have the red zone ability,but its actually impossible block a second 1 trillion degrees.I didn't defeated Ragu O' Ragla yet,so im not sure of the strategies i may use.I guess having all players level 100 is a good start.I have 2 sheriff stars,and it will be extremelly necessary on this fight.for me to know,Where are the armor and sword ya used on Raquel?
